2019 Christmas Gift Guide for the Conscious Consumer in Your Life

Updated: Nov 4, 2019

Yep, It's already that time of the year again... Christmas. Even though I love Christmas more than anything, I always get frustrated at this time of year when I am in search of amazing gifts for my friends and family which are affordable, sustainable and won't sit in the corner collecting dust. So, to simplify the gift-giving experience in 2019, I have decided to collect a variety of budget-friendly and practical gift ideas for you all to enjoy, which are 100% sustainable and ethical. So whether your friends and family like fashion, accessories, the gym or lifestyle products, I've you covered. Here are some ideas that you could buy for the conscious consumers in your life this Christmas.

For the Gym Buff

Nimble Activewear

Activewear | $50 - $110AUD

Nimble is a sustainable activewear company that creates simple styles out of recycled plastic bottles. In every pair of leggings, 6 bottles are reused, and in every sports bra, two bottles are reused. Their styles and colours are classic and simple and are sure to be enjoyed by almost anyone in your life.

TALA

Activewear | $50 - $70AUD

TALA on the other hand, is a good gift alternative to buy for your friends who like to keep up with the latest trends. Although this company is very fashion-forward, they are sustainable in the fact that all of their items are made of repurposed factory offcuts that would otherwise end up in landfill. If that didn't convince you enough, head over to one of my most recent blog posts where I did an in-depth review of their popular Zinnia leggings. View that post here.

For the Trend Setter

Converse Renew Collection

Shoes | $100 - $130AUD

The ever so loved brand Converse has recently released its Renew collection, which looks and feels exactly like their original styles but is made out of 100% polyester that has been recycled from used plastic bottles. Although the price point is on the higher end, this gift is a long term investment that your trendsetting friends and family are sure to love. For the Beauty Lover

Lush

Honey Lip Scrub and Brazened Honey Face Mask | $5 - $150AUD

Lush is an oldie but a goodie, which I find you can never go wrong with. The honey lip scrub and brazened honey face mask are two of my recommended go to's, however literally anything from their range is worth a try and will be appreciated by whoever you are gifting this to. I like Lush as a gift option because you can easily tailor your product choices to suit your budget and the type of person you are buying for. However, they also have Christmas gift sets with prices ranging from $20-$150 if you're short for time.

For the Friend Who Likes to Accessorise

Quazi Design

Jewellery | $20 - $40AUD

Quazi Design creates handmade earrings out of discarded magazines. I'm sure you will agree that all of their products are highly unique, and incorporate a wide variety of bold colours and styles. For your friend who likes to stand out and make a statement, these earrings could be a great gift for them.

31 Bits

Bags | $50 - $200AUD

Although 31 bits sell a variety of jewellery and household goods, I think their bag selection is where they really shine. If you have a gift receiver who likes woven styles, beads and neutral colours, 31 bits has a wide selection of handmade goodies for you to purchase.

For Your Friends Living Zero Waste

Green + Kind

Reusable Straw | $7AUD

We all know and love the trusty reusable straw, and just about every conscious consumer has one of these nowadays. However, if you find that one of your friends hasn't gotten onboard yet, why not grab them one of these as a useful, budget-friendly gift idea.

Seed & Sprout

Eco Starter Kit | $87AUD

All Australian made, Seed and Sprout provide Australia with some of the most innovative, stylish and eco-friendly alternatives for in and around your home. In this bundle, your gift recipient will get one organic cotton tote, six organic produce bags, one reusable stretch lid (to replace cling wrap), a plant fiber dish brush, a reusable straw, and a carry pouch.

Frank Green

Reusable Coffee Cup | $35AUD

Amongst all of the millions of reusable coffee cups on the market nowadays, I have decided to choose Frank Green. I chose Frank Green because it is fairly budget-friendly, and can be customised with the colours that would suit the personality of the person receiving this gift!
